Laser Technology
At Bay Dental Group laser technology can be used for cavity removal, teeth whitening, gum reshaping and to harden bonding materials used in fillings.
What are soft and hard tissue lasers?
Soft tissue dental lasers are typically used to safely remove excess gum tissue and to remove and destroy bacteria from periodontal pockets to minimize infection and heal the tissue.
Hard tissue lasers are employed in removing old fillings, helping to repair cavities and in preparing teeth for bonding. In both cases, laser dentistry helps dramatically lessen patient discomfort and allows for treatment with more accuracy.
What procedures use laser technology?
Laser technology can be employed for soft-tissue management, some crown and bridge procedures, cavity removal, teeth whitening, gum reshaping and in hardening bonding materials used in fillings.
Dental lasers are also employed in periodontal care to remove bacteria from periodontal pockets.
